To serve God means that you live and walk in the Spirit, both a passive and active process. You passively woke up this morning. But to keep going, you have to do the active part of eating food, drinking water, moving your body. Well when you follow the steps of salvation and enter into a committed relationship with God, you have new life. You passively live in the Spirit. But you must also do the active part of eating the word of God, drinking from the well that never runs dry, and walking and praying in the Spirit. When you walk and pray in the Spirit- you have power: power to live in God’s image; power to be led by the Spirit; power against the enemy; power to live in God’s will; power to forgive and love your enemies; power against your flesh; the power of discernment; power to walk in freedom- freedom from the bondage of past hurts, self-doubt, self limitations; When you walk in the Spirit, you have power from on High.
Prayer:
Dear Father God,
Thank You Lord for being able to live and walk in Your Holy Spirit. I know that by living in Your Spirit, I can see your glory, but when I also walk and pray in Your Holy Spirit, I actively experience Your glory and Your power. Lord when I walk and pray in Your Spirit, I have power to live as you created me, in Your image; I have the power to be led by the Spirit; power against the enemy; power to live in Your will; power to forgive and love my enemies; I have power against my flesh; the power of discernment; and the power to walk in freedom- freedom from the bondage of my past hurts, self-doubt, self limitations; I have power from You Lord God- power from on High. I humbly ask that You would help me Lord to walk in Your Holy Spirit as never before.
