Proverbs 14:13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.
Psalms 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psalms 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
Abuse is a broad definition referring to the misuse and/or mistreatment of something or someone, including to oneself. The misuse and mistreatment could be in the form of cruel and violent treatment and is always for a bad purpose. Many people think that abuse is only physical or physical abuse is worse than other types of abuse. However, abuse can occur in a variety of ways, such as psychological, emotional, verbal, financial, spiritual, and sexual. In fact, these types of abuse often have hidden wounds that are never seen by others and can be just as damaging as physical abuse.
But one thing is for sure, God sees, God knows, and God understands. God sees what no one else can see. God knows what no one else knows. God feels the pain that no one else can feel. God understands it all. And with the utmost love, tenderness, care, and kindness, He’s waiting to heal the broken hearted and bind up their wounds. Even the hidden wounds too deep for words-the wounds that hide behind even the brightest smile and merriest laugh.
If you or someone you know has hidden wounds from any source, for any reason, know that there is no wound so hidden that God can’t see it, no hidden wound so deep that God can’t reach it, no hidden wound so open that God can’t close it, and no hidden wound so infected that God can’t heal it. God is waiting for You to invite Him in and make you whole as only He can do. He’s waiting to give you a love you have never known and will never know, as only He can give. God is ready to heal your hidden wounds.
Prayer:
Dear Father God,
Thank You Lord that You are the Almighty Healer. Lord, only You can heal hidden wounds- those wounds that are invisible to others yet felt too deep for words to express. Lord I know that You see the hidden wounds that hide behind the smiles and laughter. And Jesus I know that You understand them all. You feel every pain associated with every wound because You are the omniscient God. Lord I ask that You bind all the hidden wounds associated with any past or current abuse. There is nothing that You can’t do, and I trust You with my whole heart to provide healing restoration as only You can do. And Lord may all who have hidden wounds receive Your love and Your healing right now in the mighty name of Jesus. We give You all the glory, honor, and praise due Your Holy name.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen
